Reading Lately

It has been a minute since I've shared what I've been reading lately. Since getting pregnant, and dealing with nausea for 10 weeks straight, my reading slowed down. I also lost interest in the Charley Davidson series after book three.... then all of a sudden hopped on the Harry Potter train and finished the series very quickly!!! Haha, I can't believe I've read all 7 books. I'm really proud of myself (I usually never read books longer than 300 pages!) and also kind of sad that the series is over.

What series should I read next?

  • Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini (Starcrossed #1) — I really enjoyed this book! For some reason, I thought that when the Delos family moved in, they were going to be criminals of some kind but I was wrong! Haha just your typical, one girl is extremely powerful and has some crazy power that nobody else has but she doesn't know it until the boy she falls in love with helps her learn how to use her power kind of book... haha ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Second Grave on the Left by Darynda Jones (Charley Davidson #2) — I just think her relationship with Reyes is weird. Lol, also, with where they're at in the story I just don't know how there could be so many books in the series! I hope it's not like a tv show that just needs something to have another season in the books but really has nothing to do with the original intent of the show. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Stay Sexy and Don't Get Murdered: The Definitive How-to Guide by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark — This was a meh book for me. I enjoyed getting to know Karen and Georgia but I wasn't blown away by anything. I still love their podcast though! #murderino ⭐️⭐️
  • Dreamless by Josephine Angelini (Starcrossed #2) — I really liked this book. It's hard to leave a review without giving too much away because SO MUCH happens in this book and there are so many characters and things to remember. It was good but now there's another lover in the mix and she has to choose and of course, it's probably going to be the one you don't want her to be with but a lot of major things happen in this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Goddess by Josephine Angelini (Starcrossed #3) — This was probably the best of all three books. So many emotions and thoughts. I couldn't stop thinking about the movie Hercules while reading this though. Hahaha I felt like so much of the movie was finally making sense or maybe I understood certain characters HAHA anyway, You can't have your cake and eat it too with this book but it is good in all of its glory. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Third Grave Dead Ahead by Darynda Jones (Charley Davidson #3) — I think her interaction with the biker gang was a little strange. Without giving too much away, I was surprised at who was her guardian ended up being. Did not see that coming! They keep inching towards something big happening yet, here we are, the third book in and nothing has happened yet. There's like 12 books so I wonder when the final showdown will happen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling — I have never hated someone so much in my whole life. *cough cough* Umbridge *cough cough* ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling — What? why? how? what? 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I just feel like Ginny and Harry are a bit too random but whatevs? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling — Okay.... I definitely forgot about Dobby and my heart literally shattered.... I love Dobby!! Also... really? Fred? Snape? Gosh... I can see how some felt mad that they were always protecting Harry but reading the 7th book, I kind of feel like.... dang, I'm glad I'm not Harry! I don't want Voldemort to succeed so I'll fight too! Ya know? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Have you read any of these books? Comment down below your thoughts on them!

  1. if you're into fantasy, Ember In The Ashes series IS SO GOOD.

  2. I 100% agree that umbridge was the absolute worst! I cant wait to finish the series!

  3. I love the Harry Potter books - congrats on finishing them. I love Half-Blood Prince - it's my second favorite after Azkaban. And seriously, Umbridge is the WORST.

  4. I've never gotten into My Favorite Murder. I don't know why.

  5. i was not a huge fan of reyes until the end of the 1st book.. i just read book 1.5 today and have the 2nd from the library. i am curious to see where the author takes it lol. have you read anything by ilona andrews? the kate daniels series is my favourite, 1 couple over 10 books. ok, the hidden legacy series is also my favourite, the 1st 3 are about 1 couple, and the 2nd 3 books are going to be about another couple, only the 1st (or 4th, rather) is out now.
